"Best" in this list means what we could verify, not what the marketing says. Each app gets one point per checklist item below that we confirmed from the vendor's own pages or one of ourfull reviews; anything we couldn't check from a logged-out session earns nothing. How to read the checklist
- Free tier we could confirm — a free allowance stated on the vendor's site or confirmed in our review. "Reported by third parties" does not count.
- Price list visible without an account — a sticker price on a public page. Perpetual discount banners, sign-in-only membership pages and contradictory pricing pages fail this.
- No ID document required for NSFW — self-declared age gates pass; uploading government ID to unlock NSFW fails. Nastia's third-party age check passes because Nastia states it receives only the result.
- Specific deletion or retention terms — a stated retention period, an in-app delete, or a documented deletion commitment. "As long as necessary" fails.
- No training clause — the privacy policy contains no statement that chats are used to train or fine-tune models. Silence passes; an explicit clause fails.
- No confirmed breach — only Muah AI (September 2024) fails this today.
- Legal operating entity named — a company name and jurisdiction on the site or in its terms.
Ties are broken by our review score; apps we have not fully reviewed rank below reviewed apps with the same points. Prices are what the vendor showed on the dates above and change often — treat them as a floor, especially where a separate token or coin currency is involved.
Methodology and limits
Reviewed apps use the figures from their review pages (July–August 2026). Nastia, SpicyChat, JuicyChat and JanitorAI were checked on 2026-10-15 from a logged-out browser session; where a site hid pricing behind sign-in or returned 404, the table says so instead of guessing. We do not score conversation quality here — that is in the methodology behind each full review. This list is refreshed monthly; the date above is the last pass.
