The platform, operated by EverAI Limited, a Malta-registered company, bundles text chat, voice messages, AI-generated images, and short AI video into a single character-creation environment, with more than 100 pre-built companions and a full custom builder for appearance, personality, and voice.

The catch, and it’s a real one, is how the business model is structured. A subscription buys you unlimited-ish text chat. Everything else — images, video, voice — draws down a separate pool of tokens that you buy on top, in packs ranging from a $9.99 starter bundle to a $299.99 bulk pack. Multiple independent price-tracking sites list different numbers for the base subscription itself, with reported figures ranging from roughly $4 to $17 a month depending on billing cycle and an ever-present “-70% off” banner that never resolves to a fixed sticker price on the homepage. That makes Candy AI unusually hard to price-compare against Kupid AI or DreamGF at a glance — check the live checkout page before committing rather than trusting any single number, including ours.

Conversation and memory

Candy AI’s chat is capable and the character builder is genuinely deep — this is one of the more configurable companion apps on the market. The complaint that comes up repeatedly across review aggregators and support-adjacent discussion is memory: companions reportedly lose track of earlier context after roughly half an hour of conversation, which undercuts the “your AI girlfriend remembers everything” pitch on the marketing pages. If long-run continuity matters more to you than raw feature count, Kindroid and Nomi AI are both built around memory architecture as the core differentiator rather than an add-on.

Pricing and what you actually pay

Treat the advertised subscription price as the floor, not the ceiling. Because images, video, and voice all draw on tokens, an active user who wants more than text chat should budget well above the sticker price — independent estimates put realistic monthly spend for a media-heavy user in the $25–$80+ range. Refunds are tightly gated: per Candy AI’s own support documentation, you’re eligible only within 24 hours of payment and only if you’ve used 20 tokens or fewer, with no pro-rated refunds on renewal.

Privacy

Candy AI’s privacy policy is more candid than most in the category about what it does with your data. It states plainly that conversation data “may be aggregated, anonymized, and/or de-identified” to train and develop AI models, including human review of prepared datasets, and separately discloses that message content may be shared with third-party LLM providers and hosting partners. That specificity cuts both ways: it’s more transparent than a policy that says nothing, but it also confirms your chats are training material, not just private conversation. Account and usage data is generally retained for one to three years after your last activity, log files are auto-purged after 30 days, and deletion requests are honored “without undue delay” — though the policy doesn’t commit to a maximum turnaround time. Age verification relies on “third-party age estimation” tools in some jurisdictions; how consistently that’s enforced in practice wasn’t something we could verify independently.

Trust and support

EverAI runs 24/7 support through Zendesk, and Candy AI has a real, if fragmented, public review presence — Trustpilot listings exist for both candy.ai and a separate candy-ai.eu entity, and the brand also operates several near-identical mirror domains (trycandyai.com, candy-ai.work, among others), which is worth knowing before you land on the “wrong” version of the site. We found no evidence of a confirmed data breach or active lawsuit. The most consistent friction point in public feedback is billing and refunds rather than the product itself.
