OurDream AI and Candy AI are direct competitors in the same slice of the companion market: an AI girlfriend (or boyfriend) that chats, sends AI-generated photos and short video, and does voice — with the media side metered by a separate in-app currency on top of the subscription. OurDream clearly sees it that way too: its own site runs a “Candy AI vs OurDream” comparison page and a “Candy AI Alternatives” page in its footer navigation. That makes an independent read of this matchup more useful than either company’s version.
One honesty note up front: we don’t yet have a standalone OurDream review, so everything below comes from the live ourdream.ai site, its legal pages, and third-party sources checked in early August 2026 — and the search results around this app are polluted by a swarm of near-identical “review” microsites (ourdreamai-review.com, our-dream-ai.top, ourdreamai-app.com, and others) that read like affiliate placement, not editorial. We’ve treated those as marketing, not evidence.
Feature set
The products overlap heavily. Candy AI, operated by Malta-registered EverAI, bundles text chat, voice messages, image generation, and short AI video, with 100+ pre-built characters and a deep custom builder — the fullest feature set in our companion app ranking. OurDream, operated by Dream Studio USA, Inc. together with Cyprus-registered TEKTOPIA LTD (HE 473775), covers the same core loop — chat, image and video generation, voice calls, custom character creation in realistic and anime styles — and leans harder on scale, claiming “over 63 million characters” on its homepage, a number that mostly reflects user-generated characters and isn’t independently verifiable. Neither app differentiates on memory; if long-run continuity is your priority, Kindroid and Nomi AI are built around it instead.
Pricing
This is where the two genuinely diverge. OurDream’s homepage showed fixed numbers when we checked: $19.99/month monthly or $9.99/month on an annual plan, both including unlimited messages and 1,000 DreamCoins per month for images, video, and voice. Third-party pricing breakdowns list extra coin bundles from $11.99 per 1,000 coins, with a standard five-second video reportedly costing around 100 coins — figures we couldn’t confirm from a logged-out session, so treat them as reported, not verified.
Candy AI, by contrast, is genuinely hard to price at all: its homepage shows a perpetual, unresolved “-70% off” banner rather than a sticker price, and third-party sources report anywhere from roughly $4 to $17 a month before tokens, with token packs from $9.99 to $299.99 on top — the same pattern we documented in the Candy AI review and the Candy AI vs DreamGF comparison. On price transparency alone, OurDream wins this section: a fixed number you can see beats a discount banner you can’t resolve. On both apps, the subscription is the floor and the coin/token store is where heavy media users’ real spend happens.
Image and video quality claims
Both platforms market on-demand NSFW image and video generation as the headline feature, and neither publishes anything testable about the models behind it. What the public record adds for OurDream: user feedback summarized across review platforms splits consistently, with image-generation users largely satisfied and the recurring complaints centered on the coin system — including reports of coins not being refunded for failed generations. For Candy AI, the recurring complaint isn’t image quality but memory, with companions reportedly losing context within about half an hour. If uncensored image generation is the actual goal rather than a companion, a dedicated tool from our NSFW image generator ranking may fit better than either.
Privacy
Candy AI’s privacy policy is unusually explicit: chat data may be aggregated and de-identified to train AI models, including human review, and message content may be shared with third-party LLM providers. OurDream’s policy (last modified June 9, 2026) gets to a similar place less directly — it lists “chat communications, posted images, and shared Characters” among collected data, and says collected information may be used to “train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models.” So on both apps, assume your chats are training material.
One claim deserves scrutiny: OurDream’s homepage says “your chats are safe with end-to-end encryption,” while its own privacy policy describes AES encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit on SOC 2-certified infrastructure. That’s standard server-side encryption — the company can read your chats (and by its own policy, use them) — which is not what “end-to-end” means. Candy AI makes no equivalent marketing claim. For the broader picture, see what actually happens to your companion chats.
Refunds
OurDream’s refund policy (last modified March 9, 2026) is broader on paper than Candy AI’s: a 14-day “quality guarantee” for defective or misdescribed service, a 14-day withdrawal right for EEA/UK/Swiss consumers, and cancellation anytime with access through the billing period. The caveats matter, though — the quality guarantee is resolved “at our discretion,” the EU withdrawal right can lapse once you consent to immediate use of the service, unused billing periods are non-refundable, and all cryptocurrency payments are final. Candy AI’s window is narrower and harder-edged: 24 hours from payment, 20 tokens or fewer used, no pro-rated renewals. Advantage OurDream, with the discretion caveat attached.
Verdict
OurDream AI comes out ahead on the two things this site weighs heavily: it publishes a fixed price where Candy AI shows a permanent countdown discount, and its refund policy gives you real windows where Candy AI gives you 24 hours. Against that, its “end-to-end encryption” marketing overstates what its own privacy policy describes, its 63-million-characters claim is unverifiable, and the astroturf-looking review ecosystem around it means most of what you’ll read about it elsewhere isn’t independent. Candy AI remains the more established product with a longer public track record — see the full Candy AI review — but on transparency about what you’ll actually pay, OurDream is currently the more honest storefront. Check both live checkouts before committing to anything annual.
Frequently asked
Is OurDream AI cheaper than Candy AI?
On sticker price, usually yes — OurDream's homepage showed a fixed $9.99/month annual or $19.99/month monthly plan with 1,000 DreamCoins included, while Candy AI shows a perpetual discount banner and third-party figures range from roughly $4 to $17 a month before tokens.
Does OurDream AI have a better refund policy than Candy AI?
On paper, yes — OurDream's refund policy includes a 14-day quality guarantee and a 14-day EEA/UK/Swiss withdrawal right, versus Candy AI's 24-hour, 20-tokens-or-fewer window. But OurDream's guarantee is explicitly discretionary and the EU right can lapse once you start using the service.
Does OurDream AI train its models on your chats?
Its privacy policy says information it collects, which includes chat communications and posted images, may be used to 'train our artificial intelligence/machine learning models' — similar in substance to Candy AI's disclosure, just less prominent.
Can both OurDream AI and Candy AI generate NSFW video?
Both market AI video generation as a paid feature — Candy AI through its token store, OurDream through DreamCoins, where third-party breakdowns put a standard five-second video at around 100 coins.
